Selecta Yerba Mate celebrated its 50th year of producing one of Paraguay's most famous and respected blends of yerba mate in 2004. Selecta's dedication to the production of such a high quality product has made them one of the premier yerba mate companies in the world.

Selecta buys all of its harvested yerba mate leaves from local small-scale farmers. Selecta has the capability of drying 100,000 kilos (220,000 lbs.) of harvested leaves, amounting to approximately 37,000 kilos of dried yerba. The yerba is then aged for two years, after which it is ready for delivery to the national and international markets.
