La Rubia Yerba Mate has been manufacturing one the most respected yerba mate blends for over 25 years. Located in the department of Itapua, Paraguay, La Rubia's farm focuses on the production of organic yerba mate, organic soy, and wheat (their yerba mate and soy have been certified organic by SKAL International).
They are also conducting an extensive reforestation program in the surrounding forest, creating a buffer zone to protect their crops from any and all pollutants used by their neighbors.

As well, they have planted native tree species, cilantro, and green manures in their yerba mate fields, creating multiple agroforesty systems.
La Rubia Yerba Production
Once the yerba mate has been aged for over one year, it is ready to be packaged for sale. The yerba is mixed up one more time at the top of the packaging machine and passed through to the bottom, filling the packages with yerba. The workers then seal the new yerba packages with a sticker and prepare them to be shrink-wrapped and stored until they can be delivered to the markets.
